Crime Prevention

On March 13, Escondido Police Officer Molly Milliken visited us to give a Crime Prevention presentation. Officer Milliken's talk focused on 'crimes of opportunity', which are the most common type of crimes seen in our area. Most thieves are trying to take something quick, easily and without being noticed. Home burglaries are rare, especially in a gated complex like ours, but thefts from vehicles are more frequent. If you leave your car doors or windows open, or leave valuables in your car, something may be taken and/or your window broken. It's important to 1) Not leave valuables in your vehicle, 2) ALWAYS lock doors and roll up windows when parked, and 3) Park in a well-lit area. And be alert to your surroundings - if you see someone in our complex who you suspect doesn't belong here, don't hesitate to call Escondido Police at 760-839-4722. We are enrolled in Escondido's 'Trespass Arrest Authorization' program, which allows your report to be anonymous.
